without the use of modern machinery, often called as handmade. Handicraft
products are often use for decoration purposes. Handicrafts represent the
tradition sector of crafts applied to a wide range of creative and designing
activity which depicts the skills of an artisan.

Handicrafts
have a traditional importance in India. During the earlier days, handmade
crafts were used for decorating the royal palaces. Even today, we can have an
idea of traditional handicrafts in ancient monuments. One can easily understand
the importance of ancient Indian handicrafts by looking at the coloration,
puppetry and paintings still placed in monuments.
Creating
handicraft is still practiced in various parts across the nation. The crafts
from each part of the nations reflects the best work of art which has been
practiced from centuries. Nowadays the works of the artisans are put in front
of the people so as to continue the tradition of making handicrafts. Although
due to governments support, many has been able to successfully export the
Indian art work to foreign countries but due to a middle person in between the
artist and the consumer, the artists did not get the actual price of their work.
